When I started FBA in 2007 it was mainly because I wanted to travel and make $$ doing it. For some reason, I just haven’t been doing it. I get so caught up in day to day living – that I forget to leave my comfort zone and find that adventure.
A couple weeks ago, I just took off on a spontaneous trip with no laptop, smartphone, and really no plan. I just had my Scanner, GPS, and some camping gear in my trunk. I also have all the Goodwills in the United States programmed on my GPS. So, I headed east of the Cascade Mountains looking for a few Goodwills.
Here’s a map of the trip:
To make a long story short, I hit four Goodwills (at B, C, D, and E on the map) and camped out two nights to keep the costs low.
Here’s the expense report:
Goodwills: $149.81
Camping: $39.00
Food: $62.94
Gas: $112.95
The approximate Amazon value of the items I bought was $510.06
33 VHS Tapes
24 Books
3 Toys
So, it looks like when the Amazon items sell, I will be slightly ahead. I hoping to take more of these trips to break even or even make a profit.
Bend, OR was definitely the highlight of the trip. It had the perfect balance of great weather, city life, mountains, and trees. I wish I had a good camera so I could share some photos.
