Traditionally, bluetooth scanners are used out in the field at library sales and thrift stores to scan books. However, many people have asked me if you can use those scanners to list on Amazon.
The answer is Yes.
You can use a bluetooth scanner to list on any third-party listing program like ScanLister, InventoryLab, or Neatoscan. You can also use the scanner to list directly on Amazon's website, Excel, or Google Docs.
You will need two things::
- A bluetooth scanner of course. I recommend the SocketScan S800 (formerly called 8ci). They are powerful, thin, and can easily fit on the back of your phone or case.
- A computer with bluetooth capability.
Here's a video to demonstrate.

Hi Nathan,
Have you lost the Buy Box for Used Books, like so many sellers?
Happened to me this week and my sales went down to 0-2 a day, with 5000 books in FBA inventory.
Since this is my full time job, I’m upset and panicked about this. Wondering what other sellers are doing now.

I have not lost the buy box. I would contact Amazon and see if they will give you an explanation.

Hello Nathan,
Robert Flemming here it has been a while sense I have emailed you I have had some health problems so I stop working on Amazon. I just watched your video on the Bluetooth scanner I take it you aren’t using the scanfob any longer. I am thinking about trying Amazon & ebay again. Is there a reason that you stopped using the scanfob. I also need a new battery for my scanfob can you help me with info about a battery.
Thank You
Robert Flemming

Hello Robert, I’ve never used the Scanfob. I’ve always gone with the Socket 8ci. It fits very nicely on the back of a phone or phone case.
