Here's a video on how to use Amazon's “Match Low Price” feature. Here are some quick benefits.
- It’s free. No need to pay for an automatic repricer.
- It actually matches the low FBA price. Remember 3rd party re-pricers and scanners can’t see all the FBA offers. With the Amazon API change in 2012, 3rd party programs can only see the top 20 competitive offers.
- Bonus Hack. You can easily spot inventory that has no FBA competition. Therefore, you can price those items higher and still make the sale.
Do you check your inventory for FBA books that are selling at silly low prices? For example if the FBA price has been around $35.99 for a while, then it ends up repricing at $8.95 because the Amazon Warehouse got a copy in and priced it to move. What do you do in a case like this?
No, I do not.
I tried this after you first posted the video. All of the books that I listed at $200 received pricing alerts and were deactivated.
Is there a way to keep that from happening?
You would need to set a min and max price to prevent Amazon from deactivating the listings. ScanLister has this feature built in. I’m not sure if the other listing programs have that.
Are you not using a repricer anymore?
I have it paused while I try this feature out. I may go back to a repricer.
Newbie just launched last month, I bought the hand held scanner but haven’t used it yet only to see if it works… and it does work GREAT! Most of my books don’t have barcodes so I have to type in the ISBN #.
Would you know if this feature is only available to those with a Professional seller account? I don’t currently have a professional account and it doesn’t seem to allow me to do this.

The bulk option isn’t working for me now either. Right now, I’m hitting the “match low price” button for each listing.
The “match low price” feature is now showing up in the dropdown menu. There must have been a glitch earlier.
Nathan, thanks for the video/blog post. Two questions: when you match the lowest price don’t you run the risk of triggering a race to the bottom, since many sellers set the repricers to automatically reprice when they are no longer the lowest price? I’ve read other experienced sellers who say that it’s better to price just a few cents above the lowest to remain competitive for the buy box while avoiding triggering a lose-lose pricing war. What do you think about that strategy? Also, when you use the Seller Central match low price feature, is it a one-time price adjustment, or will it continue to automatically match the lowest price? When you match the low price usually you won’t set a pricing war. The seller central feature is just a one-time price adjustment.

So this can be used to reprice to a specific condition? If I have a Like New book, will this reprice to match other lowest price Like New competitors offers or is it just matched to the lowest price regardless of condition?
Also I sell and fulfill my sales myself. Does this system work with non FBA sellers?
Yes, go to preferences and you can match based on sub-condition (good, very good, like new, etc.).
It works for both FBA and Merchant Fulfilled. Go to the preferences tab, and select “listings with same fulfillment method”.
If you have a minimum price set up will this drop below your minimum price?
If you set a minimum price on seller central, Amazon will deactivate the listing if it drops below the minimum price.
So if you set a minimum price and the market goes below that, your price cannot just stay at that minimum price, it has to be deactivated?
